Brazil Arrive in Florida for Group Stage Decider Against Scotland
The Brazilian national football team arrived in Fort Lauderdale late Tuesday night ahead of their third and final World Cup group stage match against Scotland, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. Brasília time at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
The team’s plane touched down at Fort Lauderdale’s international airport, north of Miami, at approximately 9 p.m. Brasília time — later than planned after bad weather caused departure delays from Newark International Airport in New Jersey.
Delayed Departure, Warm Welcome
Brazil had held their final pre-match training session at the Columbia Park training centre earlier that morning before travelling directly to Newark for the flight south.
Despite the late arrival, a contingent of Brazilian supporters gathered at the hotel to greet the squad, seeking photos and autographs from the players.
What’s at Stake
The match against Scotland represents Brazil’s last group stage fixture. The result could determine the team’s standing heading into the knockout rounds of the tournament.
