Ontario Premier Doug Ford faces an imminent electoral reckoning. Three provincial byelections are set to measure whether his government’s public support remains as solid as he has claimed, even as spending scandals have clouded his administration’s recent record.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The agency reviews signal that the Ford government is at least aware of the political exposure these byelections represent, and is moving to shore up its fiscal image before the votes are counted. Whether that repositioning arrives in time \u2014 and whether voters find it convincing \u2014 is a question the results will answer plainly.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
