In an economic speech on Wednesday, Vice President Kamala Harris urged Americans to abandon “failed policies” that “we have proven do not work.”
During a policy speech at The Economic Club of Pittsburgh, Harris emphasized her “middle-class upbringing” and pledged to “build a strong middle-class,” citing recent proposals such as increasing the tax break for new small businesses and providing a $25,000 credit to first-time homebuyers.
“When the middle class is strong. America is strong. And we can build a stronger middle class,” Harris said.
“The American economy– is the most powerful force for innovation and wealth creation in human history. We just need to move past the failed policies that we have proven don’t work. And like generations before us, let us be inspired by what is possible,” Harris said.
Conservative political pundits on social media mocked Harris’ words on “moving past” failed policies, finding her statement amusing given that she is the current vice president.

During her address, Harris also referred to her 2024 opponent as “one of the biggest losers ever,” a statement President Biden used about Trump on “The View” earlier in the day.
Polls show that Harris trails Trump with voters on crucial areas like as the economy and inflation. In recent weeks, Clinton has emphasized the economy in her public speeches as she attempts to close the gap between herself and Trump on Americans’ main worry.
